WHO IS THIS FOR?
  • Perfect for curious home bakers, food lovers, and anyone keen to swap everyday routines for a few hours of fire, flour, and good company.
  • All year, 7 days a week
  • 2 people (max 10 pax)
  • Our adventures are designed as self-drive experiences. Guests make their own way to and from Base Camp, and to and from the start and finish points of their adventure.
  • Prefer not to drive? Private transfers between Queenstown and Base Camp, and between Base Camp and your adventure departure or return point, can be arranged on request (additional charges apply).
  • Prepare to get involved! Fun with hard-earned knowledge and a delicious lunch with your own private group.

WORKSHOP

  • 10:30 am: Assemble at Base Camp Kitchen at The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp for welcome and briefing.
  • 12:00 pm: Working lunch:
    • Making a plan, safety and wood selection
    • Setting the cooking fire
    • Making your own starter
    • Preparing the cast iron
    • Mixing the dough
    • Crusty tips
    • Getting it on the fire
    • Watching and tending to the needs of the fire and the dish
  • 2:30 pm: Breaking bread, thanks and debrief.

While it’s not exactly a dangerous activity, we will show you how to safely work with wood, fire and cast iron.

2. BOOK & PAY DEPOSIT

On booking, you’ll be required to pay a 10% non-refundable deposit, with the remainder due 14 days prior to your departure day.

3. GET PREPARED

We’ll send you a link to our ‘packlist’ and will provide any technical equipment as part of your package. We also arrange a pre-arrival GoogleMeet with you to answer any questions and discuss your gear requirements.

4. PAY OUTSTANDING BALANCE

You’ll receive the invoice for the remainder of your balance. Payment in full is required 14 days before your departure.
