We look at our restaurant a little differently. It’s much more like dinner at our place. Enjoy decision-free family-style dining, with all food cooked in cast iron over wood fire.
MOUTAINEER'S HUT-STYLE ACCOMMODATION
Inspired by the historic mountaineer’s huts that typify the NZ Southern Alps (with a few added luxuries) our accommodation has been created by adventurers for adventurers.

We had a multi generational family holiday at base camp, accommodated in three separate 'huts'. Base camp was a launching pad for daily doses of adventure. Each evening was a home cooked, candle lit, cast iron skillet and pot filled dinner around a long candlelit table with fresh faces or family. The accommodation was a carefully melded mix of Swedish spa, alpine hut, nordic lodge: all woodsmoke and stone, Cedar lined and feather down. We loved it. Glenorchy is a magic place and Liz and Doug were the best hosts, helping to create a magic holiday for the whole family.
Had the most spectacular stay before heading off to do the Routeburn - perfect spot to get you excited for hiking but with the luxuries of a comfy bed and fantastic food.
Alana & Katie provided impeccable & personable service - making each guest feel special and welcomed.
The whole team was great. Would happily stay here again and would recommend ☺️
