This authentic transalpine expedition style adventure requires good fitness but no experience. You will move through incredible and powerful landscapes en-route to your wood-fired glamp experience. The route will require you to be present, the views unrivalled, delicious fire-cooked meals — and the sense of achievement will live with you always.

WHO IS THIS FOR?
- For small private groups
- A reasonable level of fitness is required
- While this is a more challenging adventure, there is no requirement of previous experience
AVAILABILITY
- All year, 7 days a week
GROUP SIZE
- Groups of up to 5 people (maximum 15 guests in 3 modules)
TRANSFERS
- Our adventures are designed as self-drive experiences. Guests make their own way to and from Base Camp, and to and from the start and finish points of their adventure
- Prefer not to drive? Private transfers between Queenstown and Base Camp, and between Base Camp and your adventure departure or return point, can be arranged on request (additional charges apply)
WHAT TO EXPECT
- We help you with your packlist pre arrival
- Briefing and gear check at Base Camp when you check-in
- Heli transfers
- The terrain is alpine backcountry with no marked trails. The ground is uneven and the ground condition varies and includes scree, hard rock, weathered rock, snow, ice, tussock and moss. The route is steep in parts with some exposure.
- Fire-cooked meals at your glamp
- The incredible team from Base Camp Kitchen will be preparing all your meals
- Drinks included
- Cosy heavy canvas glamp tent(s)
- Wood-fired tent heater(s)
- Traditional canvas bed rolls with goose down and linen
- Staff will sleep in their own tents nearby
- There is a toilet tent
- Your accommodation will be private for you and your troupe
- An authentic and unforgettable wild nature alpine experience
ITINERARY
DAY ONE
- 3:00 pm: Check in at Base Camp, gear check & briefing
- Drinks & dinner at Base Camp Kitchen ahead of your night at Base Camp
DAY TWO
- Breakfast at Base Camp Kitchen
- Briefing from your guide
- Heli transfer / 4–6 hour transalpine hike
- Arrive at your traditional alpine glamp for your fire-cooked dinner and a night to remember
DAY THREE
- Wood-fired glamp breakfast
- Heli transfer back to The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp for showers, sauna & some free time
- Debrief, drinks & dinner at Base Camp Kitchen ahead of a night in your private hut at The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp
DAY FOUR
- Breakfast at Base Camp Kitchen
- 10:00 am: Check out
