ITINERARY
Day One | Heli Transfer, Snowshoeing and Camping
Arrive at The great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp at 8:30am to start your overnight snowshoeing trip.
We’ll fly by helicopter into the UNESCO South West New Zealand World Heritage Area to go snowshoeing across easy-going but truly spectacular terrain. No one else but your privately guided group will be there!
You’ll carry your own pack (with your own tent and supplies) and we’ll set up camp together for a night in this otherworldly silence.
Day Two | Sunrise, Snowshoeing and Sauna
Rise with the sun, break camp and start snowshoeing back towards our heli pick up point.
At 3pm, we’ll fly by helicopter back to Base Camp, arriving at around 4pm. You’ll have time to enjoy Base Camp’s facilities like our sauna and showers. There’ll be time to debrief by the fire and you’re welcome to hang out for a while in our bar, toasting marshmallows in the fire.
WHO IS THIS FOR?
This world-class experience is designed for anyone 12 and up with a reasonable level of fitness. If you enjoy regular short walks, you’ll be able to do this and you don’t need any snowshoeing experience. It’s best described as an easy-to-moderate level experience for those who love new things.
