This private one-night glamping experience offers an authentic wilderness immersion with campfires and fire-cooked meals. Featuring traditional heavy canvas tents, great bed rolls, rugs, wood-fired tent heaters, open fires, complete with (importantly) cooking technique workshops.

- Groups of up to 5 people (maximum 15 guests in 3 modules)
TRANSFERS
- Our adventures are designed as self-drive experiences. Guests make their own way to and from Base Camp, and to and from the start and finish points of their adventure
- Prefer not to drive? Private transfers between Queenstown and Base Camp, and between Base Camp and your adventure departure or return point, can be arranged on request (additional charges apply)
WHAT TO EXPECT
- We help you with your packlist pre arrival
- Briefing and gear check at Base Camp when you check-in
- The incredible team from Base Camp Kitchen will be preparing all your meals
- Fire-cooked meals at your glamp
- Your accommodation will be private for you and your troupe
- Staff will sleep in their own tents nearby

ITINERARY
DAY ONE
- 10:00 am: Assemble at Base Camp Kitchen at The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp
- Welcome & introduction
- Hearty morning tea
- Depart Base Camp Kitchen
- Field course and camp experience commences:
- Equipment, hygiene & safety
- Meal plan, preparation & logistics
- The fire pit
- Wood selection
- Correct axe use
- Wood splitting technique tips
- Preparing the cooking areas
- Cooking over fire (best utilisation of rising and falling heat)
- Using cast iron
- Good smoke and bad smoke
- Plating up
- Cleanup including correct maintenance of cast iron
- Camp overnight
DAY TWO
- Prepare breakfast fire
- Cook breakfast
- Transfer to Base Camp Kitchen
- Showers, sauna & checkout
