TERMS & CONDITIONS
RESTAURANT BOOKINGS
A $2 fee is taken at the time of booking and is non-refundable.
Guests settle at the end of the service, or charges can be added to your room if you are staying with us.
Cancellations require a minimum of 36 hours’ notice.
Cancellations made within 36 hours, or no-shows, will result in a full charge being applied to the credit card loaded at the time of booking.
Group bookings and private functions:
Require a non-refundable 20% deposit at the time of booking.
The non-refundable balance is due 60 days prior to the booking date.
ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS
Individual bookings:
Attract a $2 non-refundable charge at the time of booking.
The balance is paid at check-out.
Cancellations:
Require 1 month’s notice.
Cancellations within this period will result in a full charge being applied to the credit card loaded at the time of booking.
TGGABC does not accept weather risk for accommodation bookings, and the above also applies to weather-based cancellations.
Group bookings and private functions:
Require a non-refundable 20% deposit at the time of booking.
The non-refundable balance is due 60 days prior to the check-in date.
Additional charges:
An additional cleaning charge of up to $500 may apply for stained linen, stained rugs, spills, or anything requiring greater than normal detailing.
Failure to leave your key behind will result in a $250 charge.
A broken hut fire door will attract a $300 charge.
TGGABC reserves the right to charge for any damage at replacement cost, including labour and freight.
Guests pay at check-out on site.
GROUP BOOKINGS

For restaurant and/or accommodation:

Require an enquiry via the ‘Contact Us’ or ‘Book a Call’ links.

Require a non-refundable 50% deposit at the time of booking, with the balance due 60 days before the check-in date.

SAUNA
A sauna is available on site.
Sauna sessions are included in all adventure packages.
For non-adventure guests, the sauna can be booked as a private 1-hour session (charges apply). Please enquire with front of house on site for availability and pricing.
Sessions:
Are available for private groups of up to 6 people.
Can be booked in 1-hour blocks.
Bookings are made on site.
The sauna cannot be booked later than 5pm.
ADVENTURE BOOKINGS

Our adventure trips, experiences and courses are operated by our wholly owned subsidiary, The Wilderness Tonic Company (WTC), and sold through Wild Bells Trading (WBT).

Deposits and payments:

A non-refundable 10% deposit is required at the time of booking.

The non-refundable balance is due 60 days prior to the booking date.

Weather and trip changes:

We reserve the right to relocate any proposed adventure for weather or safety reasons. This decision is made at our sole discretion and may involve moving to a lower altitude location where necessary.

If a client or group requires an earlier than planned extraction, additional charges will apply.

BUYOUTS
Deposits and payments:

GIFT CARD TERMS
All ‘Yellow Envelope’ gift cards are valid for three years from the date of issue.
Bookings are essential to redeem a ‘Yellow Envelope’ gift card.
‘Yellow Envelope’ gift cards can be used for, or towards, anything we offer.
PAYMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS
Bookings made on or before 5th March 2026

A $2.00 deposit applies to each item booked and will be deducted from your final invoice.

All payments are processed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD). The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp is not responsible for currency fluctuations in the event of refunds.

A 2% surcharge applies to all credit card payments.

A 15% public holiday surcharge applies to accommodation and restaurant & bar services.

The surcharge applies to the actual public holiday date(s) only.
- If your booking includes a public holiday:

The surcharge will be added to your original booking.

It will be charged at checkout.
- Your final cost may be higher than your original confirmation.

Bookings made from and including 6th March 2026

No public holiday surcharge applies.

The $2 booking fee remains.
POLICIES
No pets are permitted on site.
No BYO alcohol.
No cooking facilities are available for guest use.
No food is to be consumed inside huts.
Luggage storage is available by request (charges apply).
There is no guest laundry.
In some cases, guests may be allowed to use staff laundry facilities (charges apply) — please inquire on site.
