Take a helicopter ride into the mountains for a privately guided hike on an ancient glacier on this awe-inspiring day trip from Glenorchy. Secluded and quiet, you’ll be the only tour group there — a rare opportunity to hear the unique sounds of this historic natural environment.

ITINERARY
8.30am: Arrive at Base Camp to meet and be briefed by your expert mountain guide(s).
9.30am: Depart Base Camp for the nearby heli port.
10.00am: Heli to the glacier for your bucket-lister of an adventure.
4.00pm: Heli pick-up from the glacier to return to our local heli-port, then transfer to Base Camp for your debrief.

This is an easy to moderate adventure, the difficulty can be tailored to your group.
SeaSONAL CHANGE
Glaciers are subject to remarkable change throughout the year. We can access them all year round but the experience is different from Winter to Summer
During the winter months of July to September the glacier is covered in deep snow, in this winter wonderland snow shoes will often be worn (provided by us). As the snow melts back through the summer we change our footwear into crampons (provided by us) which provide the grip required when walking on the hard glacier ice.
