Entry #2
Don’t get me wrong, top bloke for sure, funny (in a dry way) and there probably isn’t a high alpine pass or boney ridge around here that Tommo hasn’t had his boots on. He lives for it. Another Glenorchy local who is, in his very essence, a conservationist. His local knowledge, bushcraft, determination, strength, calm and all round robustness make him an essential member of The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp team with a critical part to play in all the adventure package concepts and all adventure ground testing. Beast.
This is Liz.
Always smiling and happy.
Rational, creative, driven, entrepreneurial, expansive, passionate about regenerative tourism and absolutely a part of The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp vision origination. Wild nature lover, mountain biker, hiker, skier, mountain marathon runner, wilderness food forager and another Glenorchy local. Love.
He walked the Routeburn Track at 4 years old, he climbs with ropes every week, loves fishing, garden camping and making fires for toasting marshmallows on the local Glenorchy river delta as often as he can.
We know Neddie is a future carer for our fragile wilderness area and he’s being brought up to appreciate this truly wonderful region. We spend a great deal of time thinking and talking about the responsibilities we all share for him and his generation.
This is only our second journal entry and I thought you might like to meet some of The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp team. I’ll introduce you to more of us as our journal entries gather pace.
I am also a Glenorchy local and avid outdoorsman. I am in the hills around here every week with my pack. I freedive, fish and hunt meat for our family dinner table (organic, sustainable, renewable and delicious). I love multi-day missions and am living proof that if you really love something then you will want to take good care of it.
