ITINERARY
Day One | Prepare For Your Family Adventure
Arrive at The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp and get settled in. The grown-ups can take advantage of our shared facilities like our sauna, or you can cosy up around the fire and roast marshmallows together.
Your dinner at our licensed wood-fired restaurant, ‘Base Camp Kitchen’ is included in your stay at Base Camp.
Spend the night in one of our cosy mountaineer’s huts.
Day Two | Family Glamp & Explore The Mossy Forest
After enjoying breakfast at Base Camp, we’ll transfer you in our 4×4 to a remote campsite. Because we’ll be driving to the glamp site, you don’t need to worry too much about packing light — there’s room for the little one’s favourite cuddly toy.
You’ll help set up the traditional canvas tents and your glamping campsite, complete with a wood-burning stove to help keep you warm.
There’s then time for a quick lunch before starting a guided half-day experience in the magical mossy forests. Throw stones into the babbling brook, go wild swimming and see if you can spot fairies dancing in the trees.
Afterwards, tuck into camp food and enjoy a well-earned rest.
Day Three | Wake Up To Birdsong
Wake up to birdsong and dappled morning light in the trees. There’s time this morning for another guided adventure, taking in more of this breathtaking and unique landscape.
Next, it’s time to break camp, pack up and get back in the truck to 4×4 over remote roads back to Base Camp.
Back at The Great Glenorchy Alpine Base Camp, there’s time for a debrief, then a shower before tucking into dinner at our restaurant. Base Camp has everything you need to refresh after an adventure, including shared facilities like a drying room for your gear.
Spend the night back in your mountaineer’s hut.
Day Four | It's Always Hard To Say Goodbye
Enjoy a wholesome breakfast with us and take your time checking out.
Transfers to Queenstown Airport are available if required.
